DIN 2448 is a standard that gives specifications for seamless carbon steel pipes and tubes including conventional masses per unit length, dimensions, couplings in addition to weights. A thick layer of zinc protects the material from atmospheric corrosion. The manufacturer is permitted to remove surface defects by the use of a grinding process. However, the thickness of the DIN 2448 EN 10210 Steel Pipe must not be lesser than the minimum allowable thickness keeping in accordance to standard EN 10210-2
