Grade E235 or as referred to as EN 1.0308 steel is a non-alloy carbon steel grade. Essentially, E235 is the chemical designation for the English standard. The EN 10294-1 Grade E235 is an unalloyed steel that is well suited for machining without the use of a heat treatment. The EN 10294-1 specified component details 2 aspects of the material. Firstly, the letter E indicates that the bar is to be machined, whereas the numbers that follow the letter E are indicative of its minimum yield strength. Hence, the minimum yield strength of the EN 10294-1 Grade E235 Hollow Bars is approx 235.

These components are relatively low cost and their use in any application considerably reduces the cost of the entire operation. Though not as hard as high carbon steel hollow bars, the E235 Steel Hollow Tube could be processed via any metallurgical surface treatments. Most commonly processes such as carburizing, nitriding or carbonitriding are used to increase the toughness and reduce wear of the  EN 10294-1 Grade E235 Carbon Steel Seamless Hollow Bar. The presence of manganese in the steel improves certain characteristics. For instance, the strength, hardenability as well as the resistance to abrasion are properties that surge to a certain extent with the addition of manganese in the E235 Seamless Precision Steel Tubes. Not forgetting the increase in hardness in the material as well. This being said, the moderate tensile properties of the material is a result of the thicker cross-sectioned walls of the EN 10294-1 E235 Hollow Pipe.
